Before all of us die-hard college football fans go into complete college football hibernation, it is time to take a fresh look back on the college football season. There were some all-time classics and some average year-in, year-out games that should just be done away with. However, even though there should be a playoff established for Division I football there is always something special to the bowl season and this year was no exception. With out question the two best games came on back to back nights with the Sugar Bowl and the National Championship Rose Bowl Game. Some final thoughts…

Rose Bowl (Texas 41, USC 38): Please excuse the cliché’s but this game was truly a classic battle between two superb teams. The two-time defending champion being challenged by a program that had not seized the title in some 35 years lived up to all the hype. If he bolts for the NFL, which he should, Vince Young will have one of the greatest legacy’s of any player in college football history (with the exception of a Heisman Trophy). Texas’ late fourth quarter stuff of LenDale White on a fourth and two set the stage for Young’s climactic touchdown ending to an already drama filled evening in Pasadena. Even if you are a USC fan you have to admit that it was a fantastic championship contest.
