After years of undergraduate and postgraduate study you are now ready to begin your career as an Arizona Certified Public Accountant. However, before you can practice as a CPA you will need to qualify for, sit for, and pass the Arizona CPA Exam. Requirements to Sit for the Arizona CPA Exam

There are few basic requirements that you must meet in order to qualify to sit for the Arizona CPA Exam. First you must have earned a baccalaureate degree from a regionally accredited college or university, and have 24 semester hours of accounting coursework and 18 semester hours of related coursework. In addition to these educational requirements you will also need to be at least 18 years old and be of good moral character.

Application Process

The first step in the application process is to download or request a complete application package. You can request an application packet be mailed to you by visiting the Arizona State Board of Accountancy’s website. Here you will find fees charged for the packet and a mailing address. You will need to then complete the application packet and mail it back along with a 2” X 2” passport style photograph, a complete application, CBT Supplemental Form, and your application fee. You will also need to request that your college or university send your transcripts directly to the Arizona Board of Accountancy to prove you have met the educational requirements needed to sit for the Arizona CPA Exam.
