Donating your old clothing that is still in good shape is a great idea for many reasons. Not only are you helping give clothing to those who really need it, but the feelings you get from giving is something that stays with you forever. So, where can you donate your old clothes? Let's take a look at some different places to make donations to help give you some ideas.
The first place that comes to most peoples minds is your local Goodwill Store. They accept all types of clothing, from adults to small infants. Goodwill has been selling and distributing clothes, coats, and shoes for many years now. You can't go wrong in donating any of your old clothing to this organization. You will find their drop-off containers in various parking lots throughout your town that you can simply place your items in. Or, you can go directly to one of their locations and drop off your clothing there.
Another place to donate clothes that should be at the top of anyone's list is a local church. While many people may not think of a church as a place to donate clothing, the truth is, they often need clothing to help others who have lost their belongings in a fire or other unforeseen emergency. The church will also give out coats and clothes to other less fortunate people in the community. If you do not go to a church that accepts clothing donations you can simply make a few calls to some area churches and find out who does accept clothing.
Pre-schools are yet another good place for donations. The kids use the clothing in various activities as well as for art and crafts classes. The best bet here is to give the school a call and ask what types of clothing they could use.
