Cox and Anniston More Than Just Friends Tonight

Courtney Cox and Jennifer Aniston will kiss each other on tonight's season finale of FX's tabloid tale "Dirt." The episode airs at 10 p.m. Eastern and Pacific.

According to a USA Today reporter, however, "the kiss isn't hot."

"You should know not to expect a major love scene between good Friends Courteney Cox and Jennifer Aniston. Aniston's character knows Cox's character from long ago, but this is no re-kindling of a romance. It's more about office backstabbing," said the reporter.

In the episode, Aniston, 38, guest stars as lesbian magazine editor Tina Harrod, a charmer who may be after Dirt Now editor Lucy Spiller's(Courtney Cox) job.

Harrod is a lesbian with a partner and children. She knows the childless Spiller, who is married to her job, from their early career, when they used to work together for the Post. The women are still friendly, but Spiller is threatened by Harrod, especially when she finds her seated in the office of Dirt's publisher.

The Lucy character runs over anyone in her way, but Tina sugarcoats everything with compliments, but she's as tough as Spiller.

Tina rattles Lucy by reminding her over lunch that any girl on girl action between them would be a one time situation.

Aniston, despite not getting a lot of screen time, takes over the screen. She is best friends with Cox and they appeared to have fun playing caricatures of their "Friends" characters, Monica and Rachel.

"People should tune into to see Jennifer Aniston for every reason but the kiss," says Cox. "We do kiss on the show, but it's not a big deal. I think you've seen a kiss like this on Friends."

The kiss, however, is similar to the one that involved the shoplifting Winona Ryder and Aniston, who played a stalker character during an episode in the show¹s seventh season.

Cox's co-executive producer Matthew Carnahan, thinks the kiss is "kind of hot," but he also stated, "If people are looking for hot girl-on-girl action, they are going to be disappointed."

According to Cox, it was Aniston's idea to come on "Dirt."
