A Guide to Creating Balance Your Garden
Ever walk into a garden and just feel as though something was not right? Or the opposite, something just feels so right? Most people have heard of the ancient Chinese technique however may have not thought about taking into the garden. A person's garden is a sanctuary for the soul; therefore it is not outlandish to think someone should take this technique that has been used for years into the location where many people spend many summer hours.Feng Shui is the method of creating balance of the "chi" (life force). By creating balance one creates a harmonious environment that clears the blockages and obstacles that one experiences in life. It is a common believe that if one changes the environment then one also in return changes the life that one lives. Accordingly, using Feng Shui to develop ones garden will help find harmony, peace and success. Hence, when you walk into a garden it creates the sense that something is just right.
Feng Shui is the blend of five elements made up of Earth, Metal, Water, Wood and Fire. Each element also corresponds to a color. (See the photo.) By placing these elements in the correct location of the garden, eight aspirations such as wealth, fame, relationships, creativity, mentorship, career, knowledge and health will be achieved. It is also a thought that creating feng shui in a garden will actually produce a better quality of plants. It is important to use all five elements though, as removing one will create an imbalance and not work towards the benefit of using feng shui.
