There is quite a bit of controversy in the Christian Church concerning the issue of women in ministry. Should women have a place in the hierarchy of the church council? Should women be allowed to deliver sermons before a congregation? Should women be ordained?

The answers vary from denomination to denomination, and often from church to church. Most church bodies present a position on the subject in their belief structure, and list biblical passages supporting that decision. Unfortunately, the Bible tends to contradict itself in various sections, making it difficult to pinpoint a biblical reason for the No Women In Ministry rules that dominate the Baptist, Non-Denominational, Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Pentecostal, and other Christian denominations.

The Southern Baptist Convention, which dictates the behavior and belief systems of many Baptist churches, says that women can work in Ministry, as long as they do not hold a position higher than a man. For example, a woman can be a youth minister, but she cannot serve as a Minister. Likewise, she may be allowed the position of council treasurer, but not council president. Men are the only gender allowed leadership roles within congregations.

The Pentecostal church, however, recognizes only men as qualified for church roles. Women are allowed as members of the congregation, of course, but not as pastors, youth pastors, or even council members. Occasionally, women are allowed to work as church secretaries, but they are not considered an integral part of the church’s structure. They do not minister or offer counsel to others.

The Methodist church is widely divided on the subject, and it varies by church. In some instances, women are recognized for ordination, and are permitted to attend seminary and become Masters of Theology. In other cases, they are expected to assume the lesser roles in the church hierarchy, and the preaching is left to men only.

Takeaways
  • Many Lutheran, Methodist, and Episcopalean churches are accepting women as pastors.
  • In most Baptist churches, women must serve in positions lower than men.
  • The Pentecostal church recognizes only men as qualified for church roles.

The Father in Heaven, have chosen Mary a woman to give birth to our Savior 'Jesus'. Women have also gave birth to all great Presidents, kings and queens of all nations. Without women, this world is zero. Oh yah, there was Adam, but Adam died, who give birth to the future generations? Women. Why so many people disregarding women to preach? Men or Women are equal unto God. If Women can speak to God and God choose also to speak to women, then Women should deliver the message that God command the women to speak to His people. Who are we human being, questioning God purpose in women life. Look, the same Spirit of God in a Men is the same Spirit that inside the women. If God can used a Donkey to deliver His message, why He can't use a women on the pulpits? It's all in God plan to use women in the pulpit. If you said that is not God plan. He already using some of women to preached, with the same anointing He is giving Men.

the bible says that a woman should'nt usurp authority over a man. now my comment is that if men are so afraid that women are going to preach or be over them , then why don't they start taking their leader role and start being the man in the home and they should stop worrying about what the woman is doing and do what God has told them to do.If they did their part, then they wouldn't have time to worry about the woman.WHY is every one wasting time when there is enough work for the man and the woman . People of God,we are losing ground and giving space to the enemy ,each time we spend arguring over who is to preach or not. Think about the woman that Jesus talked to at the well, how that she ran back to the city telling the people about Jesus. What would people say about that? For one thing she gained the peoples attention ,even though they did'nt want to listen to her. So please PEOPLE OF GOD ,SPEND TIME MINISTERING TO THE LOST SOULS. PEOPLE ARE OUT THERE DYING WHILE GOD'S PEOPLE ARE

I beleive paul's comments in corinthians should be considered within the context of the time it was written. so the Bible doesnt tell us of anywomen who led their congregations but it tells of women who phrophesied who helped to lead the man in the right direction.hisorically the translation of those women dont preach verses is that women shouldnt dominate men. when a man in todays world gets on the pulpit and preaches i dont see him as dominating me, he is using his gift, taking his calling.same thing for the woman, its not about domination but fulfilling our commission.so many pple need to know and to hear of God today but because of a few many peoples pride, so many are held back.God wouldnt reveal himself to women in that way if he didnt want them to go and preach
