Convicted Murderer Rodney Reed Waits to Die on Texas' Death Row

I was interested in where I might find my name on the Internet. I did a Google Search and I was blown away by what I found. There are about 1,390,000 hits for the name Rodney Reed on Google. The ridiculously high number of hits was surprising but it's what is in those hits shocked me more then I eve
r thought possible.

Turns out that my name is all over the Internet, well the name Rodney Reed is at least. I found an LSU Football player named Rodney Reed, apparently the guy is a math genius as well as a pretty good tackle for the LSU Tigers. I also found that he was drafted into the NFL by the Miami Dolphin's but that he never played a game in the NFL. I guess that math will come in handy since the football thing didn't work out. Maybe he can be an accountant for some of those millionaire football players that he hangs out with.

I also found a convicted murderer, Rodney Reed who is sitting on Texas' Death Row as we speak. Hundreds, if not thousands of links to related websites, news articles and blogs pop up instantly at the searching of his name, my name.. Our name..

I have to tell you, it is really weird to read a headline that says; "Your Name" Convicted of Murder and Sentenced to Die" , or even better "Death Row Inmate "Your Name" Scheduled to be Executed." The thing that really caught my attention most though was the vast number of ; "Free Rodney Reed" websites and numerous articles concerning his potential innocence.

There is a huge grass roots movement underway to have Rodney Reed's conviction overturned. Many people are asking that he be set free immediately. After reading the background on the case I find myself asking a lot of questions about this man and his possible railroading at the hands of the Texas Justice System. What should I learn about the man whose name is just like mine I wondered? I decided that I should learn everything.

I will give you some background on the case first , regarding his crime and conviction. The I'll give you the things that are leading many many people to believe that he has been wrongfully convicted. I can tell you this it's quite a compelling story.

Powerful story. Yes, racism is still alive and anyone that says it isn't is totally oblivious or is a racist themselves. The Texas justice system in many situations is ONE BIG JOKE. You would think the evidence speaks for itself and it does even when it is obviously manipulated. It is such a shame, a blaring shame. The lawyers would rather leave brutal murderers on the street and condemn a black man to death-just because.

Wow, I guess you never know what you will find when you Google your name! "I'm" just an artist and an actress; nothing nearly as interesting as what you've uncovered!

Name searches are so interesting. Turns out I'm a professor at a few universities scattered throughout the Midwest and Southwest and that I'm 105 years old.

i wonder if the aclu is aware of this. this is so clearly an infringement on civil liberties and civil rights. it's so amazingly clear that this case turned out this way because he's black, she was white, and they're in the deep south. this is why i stay in the north. it's like 'to kill a mockingbird' 65 years later.
