Lewis Carroll created a nonsense world as curious as a dream in Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. Even though this story is not real, it still reflects some real-world phenomena or people in several parts of the story. As we know, Alice's Adventures in Wonderland, which is an old book for today, was first published in 1865; as a result, the story shows a variety of problems which came out at the old time, such as the relationship between masters and servants, the administration of kingdom, and the communication among the people in different social classes.

In the book, the positions of masters and servants are as extremely unequal as the common situations in the old time. Every reader of the book can find out many scenes of servants being shouted at by their masters; moreover, they must follow what their master ordered without objection. Consequently, the servants had to finish many difficult tasks in a short while. No matter what were the requirements, right or wrong, safe or dangerous, easy or difficult, all of them must finish. For example, everyone commanded Bill, a lowest servant, to do everything. Getting ladders, catching hold of ropes, getting down to the chimney? He must do those things quickly; however, nobody would like to help him. In the ancient society, it was also unequal between masters and servants. All the servants needed to do a lot of housework every day. Some of them needed to serve their masters or mistresses attentively, such as taking bath, preparing dinner, and putting on clothes. Some of them needed to clean the whole big house. All the masters or mistresses had the reasonable?rights to order their servants to do everything; moreover, most of them were very cruel to their servants. As a result, Carroll described the White Rabbit, the other servants, and the Queen, in accordance with the society in the old time.
