In the simplest way, the title of this article is a question that answers itself. Everyone is well aware of the fact that men love sex, and achievement cannot override a man's inherent nature. Not all men are drooling, whistling Tex Avery wolves, but there have always been enough of them around to make the male half of the species notorious.

A better question to ask would be, "Why do high profile men need illicit sex from prostitutes so badly that they're willing to risk everything they've worked for their entire life?" This would have been the title of the article, but it was a bit too long. The real focus of this piece is the male personality-type involved in the repeated solicitation of prostitution.

When a famous person gets caught with a prostitute, it's a big story. Airwaves and audiences eat it up like sour candy. We've been riveted by tales of Heidi Fleiss and her recent D.C. counterpart, and we'll take any more that we can get. The celebrities had a far better time of the exposure than the politicians did. Were public figures like the recently lime-lighted Federal Prosecutor just being stupid when they carried on their private "parties" under the noses of their constituents? Or is it something else that causes men with everything to gamble with their lives for cheap thrills.
