He developed a delicious recipe involving a special seasoning blend that resulted in a crunchy crust and moist chicken breast and drumstick meat, which people absolutely loved! Instead of folding up his business, he took his fried chicken to restaurant after restaurant and signed up franchising contracts with the owners who felt that his chicken was really special. The result? In 1971 he sold his company for millions of dollars!
