Martin High School Prepares Students for College Success
Martin High School Has High Academic Goals
1. Martin High School offers a wide variety of AP (Advanced Placement) classes. These classes, when successfully completed, make the student eligible to take a standardized mastery test. If the student passes the test with a certain score, then it is likely that colleges and universities will accept this and will award the student with college credit. Each university has it's own score that it will accept, so one university may give credit with a score of 3 and another college require a score of 5. The fee for testing is $38 which is quite a bit less than the cost of a college course. Martin offers AP classes in Computer Science, English, Fine Arts, Social Studies, Geometry, Calculus, and Statistics, just to name a few! Your child could complete one semester or more of college before ever graduating from high school!
2. Martin High School offers a diverse curriculum. It offers 5 foreign languages with 4 of them being eligible for AP exams. Students can take 4 years of the same foreign language which improves mastery and encourages fluency. If the child wishes to take a foreign language that is offered off campus and the program meetsspecific requirements, then that course may be accepted toward foreign language credit. Of course, being bilingual in today's world automatically gives you a boost in the job market, but it also looks awesome on that college application.
