Are you the guy or girl at work, who often comes up with great ideas for the company? If so, you just may be an intrapreneur. The word intrapreneur, is merely a play on the much more common word, entrepreneur, and simply means, "one who is the latter, however is using their talents to benefit a comp
any that they work for, as opposed to using their talents for the purpose of benefiting their own company".

For example, an intrapreneur can be the employee who leads the launch of a new company project or product. The way in which this launch would be organized and conducted, would have many similarities to an example of an entrepreneur launching his or her new company, based around a particular project or product. In both cases, the individual leader would be responsible for many of the same tasks, such as managing a team, or looking at a new market.

Working for a company and having an intrapreneurial mindset, can be very useful if you know where you're going with your talents. This type of mindset can not only help you in your job, but can also make your job the perfect place to "practice" for your future career as an entrepreneur. However, if you neglect to eventually "graduate" to entrepreneurial status, by leaving your job behind and starting your own business for example, you are more than likely keeping yourself from reaching your full potential. Chances are that you will never reap the financial rewards as an intrapreneur, that you will as an entrepreneur.
