When you found out that you were pregnant, could you honestly believe that in nine months you would be producing a little baby? A lot of mother's would have to say no. The scary part is you have just realized that your new little one will be here in this world in just a few weeks. That can not only be very exciting for you and your partner, but it can be just as scary. I would have to consider this time "Crunch Time", you have to scramble to make sure everything has gotten done, and that you have all you need for when your little one comes through your door for the first time, and makes a home out of your house. A list of things you want to make sure you have done before your baby gets home are listed below.

Number One:
Make sure that you have throughly cleaned your house. That does not mean run a vacuum across the floor and call it a day. You need to make sure that there is no dust in the air, that can cause your baby to become ill. You will want to change all of the air filters in the house, and make sure that they are all new, and provide relief from everyday allergies. If you have tile you will want to make sure that it has been rinsed down in bleach and that the grout has been cleaned and scrubbed. If you have wood floor then just make sure that you clean it down with a cleaner that is safe for the type of wood that you have as your floor. Carper needs to be throughly vacuumed at least twice. You will also want to dust down all of your hard wood surfaces, and make sure that you use a spray so the dust does not end up floating around your home. Another good thing to do to keep your house extra clean is to make sure and clean all the glass surfaces with a little windex. It may sound like a lot of work but it all needs to be done to ensure a healthy life for your new baby at your house. If you are not able to do this cleaning or can not be around household cleaning products then you might want to consider hiring help so everything gets done in time.

Takeaways
  • Always baby proof your house in advance.
  • Wash all of baby's clothes before he or she comes home.
  • If you need help cleaning, you might want to hire help.
