Restaurant Review: Lui Lui's Italian Restaurant in Nashua and West Lebanon, New Hampshire

Lui Lui's has a funny name and two widely spaced locations in New Hampshire, but the food is far from a joke and the quality is much more than you'd expect from even the best chain. My wife and I first visited Lui Lui's at their West Lebanon, New Hampshire location after a trip to Dartmouth, and later saw their other location in Nashua, on the Daniel Webster highway and decided to stop on based on our enjoyment of the West Leb trip. We were not disappointed, and a trip to Nashua for us has come to be almost synonymous with a trip to Lui Lui's.

Lui Lui's menu is Italian, with a wide selection of wood fired pizzas and traditional Italian offerings, along with a few more modern selections, like an Italian style macaroni and cheese that is absolutely incredible. Appetizers also run the gamut from traditional Italian to modern, with everything from mussels marinara and antipasta delacasa to a buffalo chicken quesadilla and spinach and artichoke dip (my personal favorite). It would also be impossible to write about Lui Lui's without mentioning the bread - served fresh from the oven and with a generous helping of made on site herb-oil dipping sauce (so good it is available for purchase separately), the bread at Lui Lui's is almost good enough to be a meal in and of itself!

Lui Lui's entrées continue with the quality found in the appetizers and bread, and the portions are generous. Even resisting the temptation brought on by the warm rolls and artichoke dip, I can't make it all the way through Lui Lui's macaroni and cheese, or even halfway if I had a big lunch that day! Not too shabby for an entre that costs less than twelve dollars!
