Here is a Start to Plan Your Last Weekend of Summer 2009 in the Hamptons
If you are coming to the Hamptons for Labor Day this year, or are a local that is looking for something to do over the holiday weekend, look no further. There are plenty of activities for everyone this year. However if you are looking for the Hampton Classic Horse Show you will have to move your trip up a week. This year the Classic will be held a week earlier. According to www.hamptons.com the 2009 Hampton Classic will be held August 23rd through August 30th this year to coordinate with the United States Equestrian Federation's schedule.The Great Tomato Taste-Off will be held on Saturday Sept. 5th at The Quail Hill Farm. This is an annual event that allows its guests to sample and judge its member grown organic tomatoes. There is a suggested contribution of $10 for non-members and $5 for farm members. Brian Stokes Mitchell will be performing at the Westhampton Beach Performing Arts Center on Saturday Sept. 5th. The show starts at 8:30pm. Brian Stokes Mitchell is a Tony award winning performer who stared in "Man of La Mancha," "Kiss Me Kate," and "Ragtime,". This will be an intimate cabaret show for the baritone singer, with tickets ranging from $75 to $125. Contact the WHBPAC at 631-288-1500 from tickets and more info. The 10th Annual Craft Fair will be held Sunday, September 6th from 10am till 5pm at the Hampton Bays Elementary School (72 Ponquogue Ave.) Proceeds from vendor spaces will benefit the Thespian Society and the high school's music department. It's a great opportunity to spend the day outside and catch up with friends, while seeing some of the Hamptons talented craft makers. More info can be found at www.hamtpons.com, or by contacting D.
