Using the Smokey System

Recently I decided to go have breakfast at Pedro's. A small, local family-owned restaurant that is big on taste and even bigger on prices.

I was hoping to ease my mind a bit over hot coffee and breakfast, and possibly generate some writing ideas for a web site I discovered called, Associated Content. The little research I did on them over the web resulted in positive feedback.

Of course, being that I'm not much of a writer, made me a little jittery in attempting to submit any writings to them. I guess I feared the humiliation and rejection that some writers often experience. So I decided to come to Pedro's for breakfast and coffee, to relax a little and take notes on any new and fresh ideas that may just happen to come to mind for this big writing project.

I took a seat on a small two-chaired corner table and immediately realized that I'd forgotten my AC notes on the front seat of my car.

I didn't panic. I realized I wouldn't need them for fresh new ideas. All the notes really contained were just the basic information that actually got me interested in AC in the first place. So I really didn't need them- it's just that I could have used the tablet to write down these great, new and wonderful ideas that would soon be coming to mind.

Oh well, I got the next best thing that I could find and that was the table napkins. That'll do (I thought). So with pen in-hand, I was ready for any wandering ideas that somehow might manage to get away from an intellectual mind and end up coming my way. At least I've heard that's how writers often get their ideas from.

Just then Maria, the prettiest waitress at Pedro's, comes to my table, hands me a menu and asks what I wanted to drink. I told her I wanted a cup of coffee. So as she went off to fetch the coffee I ordered, I looked through the menu to see what I wanted.

Once I settled on what I would order for breakfast, I placed the menu down and started going into a deep and concentrated thought, in search of someone else's lost ideas that might just be floating aimlessly in my immediate atmosphere.
