Yesterday was a beautiful, sunny, windy day. I was outside working, but what I really would have liked to be doing is flying a kite. The day was perfect for it. I thought, Gee, that's something else anyone over 50 could do on a date. When we get to be 50 and above, going on a date can be traumatic. Where do you go, what do you do? Most of us in this age group no longer have the ability or the desire to do strenuous activity. Sometimes, as in my case, just getting out of a chair can be considered strenuous activity!
But, fear not. There are plenty of things we can do on a date that require minimal energy.
This article is a continuation of my other article "10 Fun Dates If You Are Over 50". So, we will start with date number 11.
Over 50 Date Number 11
Go fly a kite. Remember how much fun that was when we were kids. Well, just because we are now over 50 doesn't mean that we can't still have fun! And, it can be the same fun we had when we were young! And, no, it doesn't mean you are going into your second childhood. It just means that fun is fun, no matter how old you are!
So, take your date out to a windy hill and fly a kite or two!
Over 50 Date Number 12
Bird watching is a great activity. I know many people, all over 50, who go to a look-out near here and watch hawks fly over the valley below. But, it doesn't have to be hawks, it can be any birds. Take your date and a couple pair of binoculars and go out and find some birds!
Over 50 Date Number 13
Take your date to a 50's diner. Lots of them are popping up all over the country now. They are decorated like the diners we all knew in the 50s. While looking at the décor, you'll be able to reminisce about things you both remember of the era.
Over 50 Date Number 14
Speaking of dining, taking a date to a regular meal out doesn't have to be boring or awkward. Sometimes it can get pretty awkward sitting across the table from someone who is almost a stranger, trying to think of things to talk about. You can relieve that tension by taking your date to a dinner theater. That way, you'll be watching the play as you eat and not have to think about what to talk about.
