First you will need to purchase all of the supplies. You will need eggs. I recommend purchasing a dozen eggs for each child that will be decorating. You do not want to do all the work preparing to dye eggs just for them to be able to color 2 eggs. They will be done in like 5 minutes when you took hours to get ready. After you buy your eggs you will need to know what craft supplies you will want to get for decorating the eggs.
There are several different dye kits available on the market. Some with colors, sparkles, stickers, wrappers that go around the eggs. I would recommend that you purchase at least two different kits, that will give your children a variety of decorations to mix and match their eggs. You can also go to the local craft store and get additional items to decorate your eggs with. You can buy additional stickers, or even craft foam to add ears and things like that to your eggs.
After you have bought all of your supplies, it is time to prepare the kitchen to dye eggs. You will need to prepare your eggs by either blowing out the insides or hard boiling the eggs. To blow out the insides you will need a pin to punch a hole on each side of the egg. Then you will blow your brains out till the egg is completely empty. This is very time consuming and can get messy but then your eggs will last forever. Otherwise, the more simpler and faster way would be to cook them. Just remember to put them back in the refrigerator when the decorating is done.
