This movie is about cute singing penguins that live in a cold bitter world that us humans almost destroy. Love, friendship, curiosity, and exile with a twist of reunion, renewal, and saving the penguin world of distinction are in this tale. This movie will make you want to dance with very happy feet!

Two penguins, Memphis and Norma Jean fall in love with their "Happy Song". Out on the bitter ice they create an egg. As Norma Jean journeys to the sea for food, Memphis stays to raise their egg. As the male penguins huddle for warmth through a winter storm, Memphis gets out of hand with his singing and out of line.

The egg soon hatches but is late at doing so. The baby penguin, named Mumble is born with dancing feet. Memphis and Norma Jean's son Mumble goes off to penguin school and tries to find his "Happy Song". The little fuzzy blue eyed fellow can't sing, but he can sure dance. He is exiled from little penguin school.

During the days of growing up, Mumble is forced to dance far away from the others. He becomes an outcast. He finds danger with some seagulls and curiosity strikes him as one seagull tells him of "aliens". Throughout his young learning life, he doesn't make it to graduate with the other young penguins. But, he finds his heart set on a female penguin named Gloria. Now, Gloria has a beautiful voice and it makes Mumble want to dance the night away. He even gets exiled by Gloria who thinks his dancing is very abnormal from singing.

Mumble finds himself in danger and the danger leads him to foreign penguins who take him in as a "tall" buddy. Once more, Mumble finds himself curious about aliens who may have taken out most of their precious food. So, he goes in search of the missing fish that they all eat. Still partially fuzzy and immature, Mumble is then placed in a zoo when he goes out on his quest to find out about the aliens.

Our 3 year old grandson would second your review. He loved Happy Feet and thrills us when he gives us a demonstration of the dance!
