If you look around the cable news channels today, you don't have to wait too long before you will see a Rosie O'Donnell story. And she seems to be getting roundly slammed, most especially on FOX. But the other outlets got in the Rosie roasting too. And the internet is awash with Rosie blasting.

The first item to be pointed out in Rosie's favor is that the show she is on is called The View, not "The News." She is entitled to her views as much as anyone. And her comments are less inflammatory than many. The producers of The View have elected to have Rosie on the show, and many viewers like her. In fact, the ratings for the show have increased substantially since Rosie O'Donnell came on the show. Still, Rosie seems to be the person the right loves to hate.

The most outrageous segment I watched was on Fox News, on The Big Story. While it is true that most prudent observers no longer count Fox News as a true news outlet, they claim to be. Rosie's show never makes claims to be hard news. The anchor for The Big Story is Julie Banderas. Another one of the beautiful faces on Fox who do their best to look good while giving out opinion and calling it news.

For example, when Rosie was talking about the taking of British sailors and marines by Iranian Revolutionary Guards she said "I have one thing to say - Gulf of Tonkin - google it." Referring of course to the 1964 incident largely responsible for American involvement in Vietnam. The military reporting of the incidents at the Gulf of Tonkin are highly suspect, and it is even doubted that one of the two 'engagements" even took place.

When reporting about Rosie, host Julie Banderas described the Gulf of Tonkin incidents as "a 1964 U.S. naval engagement." She didn't feel the need to elaborate beyond that. She then goes on to read from Rosie's blog, in which Rosie writes that she expects the taking of the British to be part of a plan to expand war to Iran. Sorry, Julie, but that is a question that many Americans have. The timing seems suspect at best.

Takeaways
  • Rosie is a big draw for The View.
  • She is opinionated, and some hate her for that.

I Honestly never liked Rosie that much before and now i know why. I couldn't believe what she said about Dog,the bounty hunter living in a trailer park,i wonder if Rosie thought before she opened her big mouth, what if everyone judged her when she came out of the closet!!!!! I was so Offended by that statement,I have lived most of my life in trailers and what the hell's wrong with that? Why the hell is everyone so worried about what she says???? i couldnt give a crap less and yea i am on the Donalds side,if you ask me rosie has always had the appearance of "Grubbiness" and i am so sick of all these tv shows quoting her atleast 10 times a day,"Rosie Says" And if you ask me? She gives TRASH a bad name!! You cant blame it on not having her Mother, I Lost mine at age 2.......because she gave me away, then my adopted parents passed away but im tired of hearing that excuse, alot of people have lost their mothers, ive lost my husband after 25 yrs of marriage but i dont use them as excuses t

Defending a traitor like Rosie O'Donnell is no virtue. She and Michael Moore should depart this life together; I can see the headlines now "Massive Grease Fire in Hell!"

Rosie was on a show called "The View" The problem was, it always seemed to be about her own views about very controversial issues. Granted , she has a right to give her opinions, but it seemed to me that the others on the show were of the same opinions (eccept Elizabeth). Not to mention the audience being stacked with people of exactly her same outlook. I have no love or hate for this woman, I just feel that to have a platform called "The View" I would like to hear both sides of an issue , not just that of one person.Cocerning Bill O'Reilly I am in kind of the same opinion. But let us not forget Bill Maher who also has a stacked panel and audience. At least Hannity & Colmes allows us to hear both sides of any particular issue and allows us to use our own minds to form an opinion.

Exit Star Jones, enter Rosie O'Donnell, exit Rosie, and enter who? This is the 20 million dollar question. Before Rosie sat on the view's musical chair, the show was just another dull garden variety chart show with little to offer in the form of real social and political views; how ironic?. Along came Rosie, who sparked life into the show, offering thought provoking views on subject matters that viewers found very interesting and relevant. Rosie was bold and courageous enough to speak the forbidden truths. She took the show to a level beyond the mental capacity of her shy and conservative co hosts. She attracted a large audience and boosted ratings. She stirred the imagination and made people happy for once because finally, the prevailing propaganda network of the right wing Republican Party and the White House were challenged on prime time. Of course, such bravado couldn't continue unchecked. The right wing propaganda machine got spooked and turned their media houn

The only reason I watched The View was because of Rosie. What would the world be like if we couldn't voice our opinions. The Views ratings will drop once everyone finds out you won't be back on. Then you can go for your own show, Perhaps this time on a Cable News Channel.

I don't agree with 100% of what Rosie says BUT she gets people talking about important issues and she's not afraid to speak her mind on things that are important to her. We could all take a page out of her book and not sit back on our collective, apathetic butts. I'm sick to death of Anne Nichole Smith and Britany Spears stories taking up most of the media while real issues get sweep under the rug. Rosie is a lightening rod and more power to her for that.

Fair enough, however, humor me this : Point out 1 topic, agenda, point of view, etc., that she has NOT attacked, unless of course it is favorable to her skewed view. Christians, Republicans, George Bush; the list goes on and on. She will lambast any and every person or organization opposed to her view/lifestyle or opinion and resort to vile and crude insults rather than debate in a civilized manner with facts in a tactful way. If I am wrong, simply list an example. I am all ears (or eyes, in this instance).

A couple of things, Dino..first you say conservative, republican, and pro-american like those are terms that belong together. There is nothing pro-American in the neo-con agenda (well, unless you happen to very a very wealthy American, or one who thinks American hegemony is a good idea, or one who hates everything not ordained to them by their church..that America-the one they want-is worth fighting against, as Rosie does..

Without resorting to insults and derogatory remarks, I will simply state a fact that can not be challenged. This blowhard (O.K., one derogatory remark) has only challenged and protested against any organization or entity that she sees as either conservative, Republican, or Pro-American in general. (All instances reflect views which, for the most part, do not accept her "lifestyle".) She is biased to a flaw, and responds to opinions opposed to hers not with reason, but with hatred, insult, and a distortion of actual facts. Of course, if you oppose her views and actually challenge her in a public format, you are seen as a bigot and intollerant. What a lovely double standard we are subjected to. She is a disgrace to those brave men and women who are overseas fighting and dying for her right to free speach, which she chooses to use towads spewing Anti-American propoganda and actually empowering the enemy that these heroes are in a life and death battle with. If that doesn't disgust you, I'

You say that the show she is on is "The View." EXACTLY. If you are willing to be on a purely opinionated show, you WILL be slammed often...tha is just the way it goes. An someone with such ignorant opinions is just asking for attention being on that show. Remember, "No attention is bad attention! She's "eating" all of it up.
