I have usually have a lot of problems with junk email filling up my inbox, and lets face it we all know that it can be annoying at times. I have even went through the trouble of sifting through all of my email and throwing what I had presumed to be trash right into the junk folder.

One day I received a letter from Directv, wanting me to switch from my local cable company and join them. They offered me a great rate and offered to set me up for free trial offers if I decide to switch services. I have been happy with my current cable company and would hate to switch providers but if they were going to save me money and give me a bonus, then what would it hurt. I don't know about you but I am in it to save as much money as I possibly can.

I called up my local cable provider the next day and told them that I was going to switch services. I was asked a few questions about why I wanted to switch, I answered them by saying that the rates are much lower and they are offering me a few trial bonuses for signing up with them. My local cable company offered to match the competition and to set me up with any bonus package that I chose for a free trial period of six months. I learned that these companies were going to do anything to keep my business and that I was actually benefiting from it.

A lot of companies will offer to match or beat the local competetors rates if you can prove that they are cheaper than what you are paying. My junk email had actually saved me about ten dollars a month and I also got to watch HBO for free for three months. I loved this and now every time I get junk email, instead of automatically sending it to the junk folder, I check it and see what they have to offer. If it is something that I am interested in and my current company is offering a match on it, then I am defiantly going to call them up to tell them about it.

You may be thinking that this is a hassle to do but if you decide to do it, you will be able to save a lot of money. I use this for local grocery stores and shopping centers also.
