Reuters has reported that famed country singer and television star Marie Osmond and her husband of 20 years, Brian Bosil, have announced they are divorcing. In the joint announcement made by the pair it was stated that although divorcing the two were on amicable terms and neither was assigning fault for the divorce.

Osmond first married Bosil in October 1986, a year after she had divorced her first husband Stephen Craig. The couple were married in a full Mormon ceremony. Osmond and Bosil live in Salt Lake City and have raised eight children together, one from her previous marriage. In the statement it was said, "Our children, as always, are our top priority, and in our deep love for them we will continue to jointly fulfill our roles as active parents in their daily lives."

Marie was the only daughter of the famous Osmond family, a proudly Mormon family who rose to become one of the country's most popular musical acts. Unlike her brothers Marie took the country route and made her first hit on the country charts in 1973 with "Paper Roses" when she was only 13 years old.

She became most famous in 1976, when she began cohosting the show "Donny & Marie" with her brother Donny Osmond. The show ran from 1976 to 1979. In the show she became famous for were well-known opening line "I'm a little bit country," to which Donny would respond "I'm a little bit rock n' roll."

She and Donny joined again in 1998 to do a new show entitled "Donny and Marie," this time a talk show. The new Donny and Marie lasted only two seasons. More recently she appeared in the made for TV movie "Inside the Osmonds" as herself, as well as briefly serving as a judge on the TV show "Celebrity Duets."

Since 1991 Marie has also sold her own line of dolls: Marie Osmond Dolls. She is a regular host on the cable shopping channel QVC with her "Marie Osmond Fine Porcelain Collector Dolls." The line of dolls celebrated their 15th anniversary in 2006. She has also begun selling her own sewing and embroidery machines and embroidery designs.

DON'T JUDGE OTHERS, IT'S NOT YOUR POSITION ON EARTH. GOD BLESS HER FOR FEELING THE LOVE TO BRING 8 CHILDREN INTO THE WORLD. HOPEFULLY SHE HAS A GOOD PHYSICIAN WHO SHOULD BE MONITORING HER ON HER PRESCRIPTION MEDICINES. SHE DOES LOOK GOOD FOR HER AGE, AND BEARING 8 CHILDREN, WHICH CAN DEFINITELY TAKE A TOLL ON ANY HUMAN BODY. SOMETIMES ASWE ALL GROW OLDER AND WISER THE PERSON THAT YOU FELL IN LOVE WITH 20 YEARS PRIOR MAY NOT HAVE GROWN WITH YOU, BUT RATHER APART. SO SOMETIMES YOU NEED TO FOLLOW YOUR HEART, EVEN IF IT IS DIVORCE. GOD BLESS THEM BOTH FOR SUPPORTING THE GROWTH OF THEIR CHILDREN, AND NOT BEING SELFISH.

Julie and Steve...You're meant for one another.

Julie (previous post)is either living in a dream world or is just too young to realize that some couples just don't live happily ever after. Marie gave it a hell of a shot though at 20 years! Best of luck to her and her family.

Yes, no one has the right to judge others. How to cope and find support is what is important. Marie and anyone going through this should check out kids-first.com which offers a great parenting plan software to save big on those divorce fees.

we all make mistakes...and divorce is not uncommon. Lets quit pulling her apart just because she's famous and Mormon. Who knows what went on behind the scenes. And Marie was being treated for post partum depression..a hereditary disease many women have...and she reacted to one of the meds. I say...if you could look like her at nearly 50...and have such a strong family...wow....keep on truckin Marie!
