There are tons of dating sites on the web. Popular dating websites include Match.com and eHarmony.com. These sites offer singles of all ages, races, religions, and sexual orientations to find compatible matches and hopefully soul mates and future spouses. There are tons and tons of commercials and ads expressing the greatness of these sites by using real examples of members and past members who have found the love of their lives by online dating. The great thing about these sites is that compatability is based on similar personalities, preferences, likes, and dislikes. Many people would consider these the basis of successful relationships. But now there is a sick twist on online dating that makes many online daters sick; it's a site called HotEnough.org.

By looking at the name, you think its a silly photo site in which people rate the looks of others based on junky Myspace-style photos. HotEnough.org is just that, but has dating thrown into the mix of judging others based on their looks.

A man named Jason Pellegrino and his business partner created HotEnough.org, stating that online dating just doesn't have enough hot-looking people and that their site will bring a lot more attractive people to the dating scene. Pellegrino himself has been rated as a 8.2 on a 10 point scale.

However, while most photo rating sites allow the "ugly" people to stay, HotEnough.org kicks the unattractive people out, making it the worst dating site ever. Members who want to join HotEnough.org must submit a full application, which includes three photos, including one full-body shot, head to toe. Current members of the site rate new applicants. Only those rated of an 8 or higher are allowed to join. If they are rated below an 8, their application is rejected. In fact, only 1 in 4 (or 25%) of applicants are accepted into the site. Those who are accepted into the site for being hot then have access to contacting other fellow hot members for $9.95 a month.

Takeaways
  • HotEnough.org bases compatibility on looks, not personality.
  • Only 25% of applicants are accepted.
  • It's the shallowest dating site ever.

BTW, Chris I understand very well what you are talking about. I eventually eased up on everything I even e-mailed homily looking girls just to see of I could get a response and they turned me down. A woman chooses a man based on status, wealth and match.com sure lets you know that. Those women make it clear about the income a possible match has.

It's ok to have sites like this. I was sick and tired of the pigs on all the other dating sites. One ugly troll after another. I admit I'm not a prince but a young man wants to see beautiful women. I got sick of trolls e-mailing me especially ones without a pic telling me to go by personality instead of looks. I had a paid subscription on match.com, yahoo and a few others and it was a waste of money. Spammers and fake profiles left and right. Face it this is reality we all judge each other. I tried hotenough and they approved me. I was surprised to think that a few women out there thought I was decent looking. I stayed on for a while but I was eventualy booted off because my ratings dropped and weren't high enough. O well thats life I tried. Get over it you whiners. I didn't complain about the fact that hotenough dropped me after a month. It felt great to think that a few women that were attractive, thought I was attractive as well and for that I thank them.

If you've been online dating before..it's all based on looks. I spent 5 months on Chemistry.com and did EVERYTHING I could think of to attract the opposite sex. I thinned out what I wanted, eased up on everything...nothing worked. For the ladies...looks are first. Personality, comes in maybe 15th on the list....screw it. It's all a big scam. If you're average looking you're screwed!

It's probably just reflecting the reality that most people go for cuteness.

It's just as bad as all those other online dating sites that discriminate on other things too! Such as sites exclusively for Jews, Christians, Asians, Homosexuals, Latinos, Blacks, etc.

Yeah, I think my self-esteem is too fragile to risk that site. How horrible!

I've never heard of this site, and it sounds like I'm glad I haven't!
