NetZero offers a variety of dial-up options, the most popular being NetZero High-speed 3G. I subscribe to this service and I must say I am very pleased with the performance. NetZero claims that the 3G high-speed service is the fastest surfing you can get without a broadband connection. It includes Norton Antivirus software with no additional charge. Subscribers receive NetZero's pop-up blocker standard. I have found that this service out-performs it's biggest competitors such as AOL and EarthLink in speed. The Anti-Virus software seems to slow the computer down a bit, because of this I turn it off when I am not using it.
NetZero offers an Instant On feature that gives you instant access to your "pre-fetched" NetZero email, browser homepage and your NetZero home pages without waiting to connect. I find this service beneficial in some cases, but it is a feature I rarely use. The company claims of thousands of access numbers, which result in fewer disconnections. I have subscribed to many providers previously and the disconnections with NetZero are much less than with other ISP's.
The best thing about NetZero is the price. For under $15.00, you receive better service, better connection speeds, and better browsing altogether than offered by its competitors, who charges as much as $24.00 per month. NetZero offers a free option for users who do not use the internet as often, and do not mind view advertisements. I have not used the free service however, free is always good!
