My sweet husband decided to buy me an eye shadow one day. So...we went to the mall, and happened upon a Lancome counter. (This is before I discovered M.A.C.!) Well, for some reason, I was drawn to Lancome's Color Design eye shadow in The New Black. Lancome's Color Design eye shadow in The New Black
looked promising: totally black with tiny, glittery sparkles that resembled twinkling stars against a very black sky. I was sold. We shelled out the fifteen dollars for the 0.42 ounce of Lancome's Color Design eye shadow in The New Black, and fled the scene. In the beginning, I thought this was a justifiable investment. I thought this expensive eye shadow from Lancome was going to be some kind of breakthrough when it came to producing the smoky eye effect that most women crave. But I was very, very wrong.

You should have returned it to the store. I have the same trouble with a lot of eyeshadows (except for certain brands, like Chanel who are FILLED with pigment) on transfering the color to my eyelid. I've found that using an eyeshadow base, or a primer on my eyelid is the only thing that will make color stick to my oily lids - and get the truest color. Also - you mentioned not having an applicator for the eyeshadow. Lancome does not sell applicators for the eyeshadow because we believe in using eyeshadow brushes (eyeshadow, concealer, and foundation brushes are GREAT investments - and they will last a lifetime if you take care of them). We even sell the brushes at the counter. They make a world of difference. I'm a Counter Manager for Lancome, and I honestly think you should have returned the eyeshadow. We want the customers to be satisfied with their products. If it ever happens again, take it back and see if you can't find something else (even from a different cosmetic line
