Super Smash Bros. Melee is one of those games, that once you get it, you're addicted. Then after playing the game for about a month, you're still addicted. What I'm trying to say is that this game never gets old.
Developer: Nintendo
Genre: Action
ESRB: T (Teens)
Platform: GameCube
When you start out, you can choose from a couple of different single player games. You can do the classic single player like in the old Super Smash Brothers, or you can try the new way, Adventure Mode. In Adventure mode, you select a character and travel to different places all over. You go all the way from dungeon in from Zelda to a space station about to explode from Metroid. It is probably one of the most fun feature in the game. Classic mode for those of you who don't know, is when you select character, and fight computers on different skill levels and on different maps. The teams are never unbalance. For example, you have to fight two people for the match, you would receive an ally to fight along side of you. This ally is only for that single match. Weather they die or not they will not go carry over to the next fight.
After beating either classic mode or adventure mode, you get a trophy. This trophy resembles the character that you played with during the single player event. Once you have collected every trophy that resembles every character (I will talk more about trophies later on), and have unlocked all the characters, you unlock a new single player mode called All-Star Mode. In this mode, the only thing you do is fight. You fight every character in the game. It starts off easy with only one opponent. Then after a few fights you must start to fight two opponents with no ally by your side. Once you have fought all of the two enemy battles you have to fight three people at a time! Still no one to help you. This single player mode may be very challenging, but once you get the hang of it, All-Star Mode is very enjoyable, just to see how fast you can do it (you are timed).
