As I am tuning in and laughing till I have tears running down my cheeks I am still asking myself a number of questions.. At times I am wondering where do they get these people and are some of these interviews staged? I started to hear all the hub hub about American Idol mocking people and that it is
a side show not a talent show. I began to feel bad about finding humor in the down fall of others. I honestly believe that some of the people that audition really KNOW they have no talent and are trying to act odd just to be on TV. They don't care about the fool they are making of themselves. But let us ask ourselves, what about the plain sad young teens who really think they have talent and Simon's brutal honestly just tears them to shreds. Does America watch American Idol for the outtakes or does America watch American Idol to actually just see the talent? Or is the attraction to the show that it provides both? We all know the first audition shows are going to include the best of the best and the worst of the worst. Do we find Simon's brutal honesty entertaining or unforgivable? You can tell this year that several things are staged when they are bringing certain parents into the room. After all these people have auditioned for the producers before they ever walk in front of Simon, Randy, and Paula.

I started watching American Idol in their first season because I loved to hear people sing. I thought a show that would give the opportunity to an amazing singer, who might not have a chance of otherwise being discovered. It was an excellent idea. I loved watching it every week as they found new talent and they started narrowing it down. You could see the contestants becoming before performers each week. I love listening to the variety of music, the singers and the raw talent in every show.

Thats the thing about open auditions, anyone can walk in off the street and try out for a show/play. The producers know this and its a ratings gold mine when they start of the season by showing the "worse" acts possible. And I must admit, I am one of those people who only tune in to see the season starters. I never watched a whole season thru
