50 THINGS TO DO WHEN YOU ARE FEELING BORED
1. Put together a jigsaw puzzle.
2. Read a book.
3. Write a children's Poem, or two or three.
4. Write a letter to a friend.
5. Write a letter to a distant relative telling them about you and asking them questions about themselves and their childhood, family, etc.
6. Write a short story on a subject that you know very little about so that you will have to do a lot of research at the library.
7. Write a letter to someone you have been angry with and then slowly tear the letter into little pieces while praying for forgiveness and asking that the anger be removed and replaced with patience and understanding.
8. Write down 10 things that you are thankful for and use crayons to decorate the page, and then place it on your bathroom mirror or refrigerator door.
9. Make a simple bird feeder and place it in the yard where you can see it from a window. Project: Smear a pinecone with peanut butter and then roll it in birdseed. Attach a colorful piece of yarn for the hanger.
10. Organize all of your photos and place them in albums. Jot notes about the people, events, dates, etc. Use non-acidic, archival safe materials.
11. Work a crossword puzzle.
12. Create a biblical crossword puzzle to share at Sunday school.
13. Clean out your refrigerator.
14. Clean out your closets, one at a time, and donate anything you no longer want or use to a local charity or plan a yard sale and sell everything cheap so you know their won't be anything left over.
15. Balance your checkbook.
16. Take out a needle and thread and mend those items needing it, sew on missing buttons, redo hems, shorten or lengthen pant legs, etc.
17. Take a walk to the park.
18. Take a walk to the library.
19. Take a walk in the rain and sing your favorite song, out loud.
20. Make your own postcards out of card stock or file folders, or fronts of used greeting cards. Decorate them and mail them to friends, relatives, children of friends, etc.
21. Adopt a nursing home patient and make a habit of visiting whenever you are feeling bored, make every visit a special event.
