Auckland, New Zealand's Must See Attraction: Kelly Tarlton's Antarctic Adventure and Underwater World
Kelly Tarlton's Antarctic Adventure and Underwater World is located Aucklan, New Zealand, as is a great activity for people of all ages to enjoy. You can find information on this attraction at just about any tourist webpage or visitor's center; it is also a pick from Lonely Planet. These sites aren'
t misguided. Kelly Tarlton's is definitely a place you won't want to miss.
If you're going on the weekend it's bound to be crowded, packed full of people from diverse backgrounds and a wide range of ages. However, you will probably find children in the highest abundance, as I did. It seems that both the locals and the tourists indulge in this little Antarctic adventure. After paying the $28.00 to get in (for adults), it's easy to see why the place attracts so many people, and why it's such a hit with the kids. You're immediately surrounded by a number of things to do and see. Fun photos can be taken upon your first entry and picked up in the souvenir shop at the end of adventure. These photos are your typical cheesy tourist photos where they place your family picture electronically in front of one of the exhibits. While I passed up this little opportunity, the kids in the place seemed to be going crazy over it. Lucky parents. This first room also offers your first view of Kelly Tarlton's major attraction. The Antarctic penguins, both Gentoo and Emperor. You can view this adorable wonders through little plastic windows, which isn't as satisfying as having a huge glass to view them from, as usual aquariums do, but the reason for this limited viewing becomes all too clear as you venture further into attraction.
