Wine is quickly becoming the drink of choice not only when it comes to enjoying life's pleasures but also when it comes to health. In the middle of the 1990s, the world's view of wine totally changed when stories about the top health benefits that can be garnered from it has been released through media in what has been called as "French Paradox." Researchers have been so puzzled why French people are usually in tip top shape despite their diet loaded with saturated fat, and before long they discovered that the secret could have been their regular wine drinking.

- A certain type of protein found in the skins of red grapes was observed to kill cancer cells

- Polyphenols, a substance also found in the skins of red grapes was discovered to clean arteries of stroke-causing clots.
