The Team that Everyone Discounted is Making a Roar in America East College Basketball

As of December 5th, it seemed that the Binghamton Bearcats were just unable to win a regular season game. When they had been beating teams with relative ease in the preseason it seemed unfathomable that our Binghamton Bearcats could be 1-5! Yet, it was predictable even in the preseason that the Bear
cats were destined to failure or so it seemed. The exorbitant number of three-point shots was indicative of a poor team. It's not that three-points are inherently evil; it shows that the team does not have the drive to get inside. While three-pointers are fine sometimes, too many are evidence that the offense has not learned how to appropriately penetrate. Another problem, as Niagara University's cheering squad put it was that "We [didn't] make free throws." And Binghamton did not LEAD any league statistic as of that date.

Since then, the Binghamton University Bearcats once again came out on top in a division contest in double overtime on Jan. 25th. It gave the Bearcats their sixth in a row and sixth America East Conference win, leaving the once stunned Bearcats with the league lead. As the season winds down and we get ready for the America East Conference at Binghamton University during the first week of March, the team to watch seems to be the once failing Bearcats who are now passing with flying colors. Let's go Bearcats!
