XM is a satellite radio provider of more than 170 channels available for a mere $12.95 a month. XM can be utilized in your home, car or office. While offering clear, crisp, digital sound, XM is commercial and censorship free radio way beyond traditional FM stations. Featuring concerts, breaking news
, weather, and the most sports coverage on any satellite radio provider, XM has choices for everyone in the family.

XM tuners are available in various styles based on usage. Home units are available in both portable units, and docks similar to those available for the I-Pod for a richer sound.

Units for vehicle usage can be self stable with units such as the "Roadie" or as an in-dash feature. Pioneer manufactures XM capable units, including GOS navigation and DVD consoles.

Programming offered by XM is as diverse as it's consumers. News and talk shows include hosts such as Anderson Cooper, Oprah Winfrey, and Ellen Degeneres. Non-Music programming also includes comedy and interactive kid's shows.

XM's sports coverage includes 10 channels dedicated to sports talk while 8 more are specifically geared towards play-by-play sports coverage. Whether you are looking for PGA, MLB, NBA, NHL, college, or even NASCAR, XM has got you covered. Sports channels include ESPN, ESPN sport, and FOX sports.

As far as music is concerned, there truly is not a genre that is not covered whether directly or indirectly. Stations dedicated to music by the decade range from the 40's to the 90's. Each major genre has sub-genres. Example- rock has deep classic rock, hard rock, heavy metal, college/indie/unsigned, adult contemporary, alternative, acoustic- just to name a few.

With options like these, it's enough to keep even a music snob like myself entertained.

Summed up? XM reciever -$99-300, XM monthly service fee- $12.95 XM activation fee- $14.95 Enjoying rush hour traffic? Priceless.
