Recently I came across the Bumbo Baby Sitter, a seat made just for babies. There was something different about this seat that caught my eye. First of all the package is unlike any other I have come across, a colorful cardboard hexagon shape. The box features the many different colors available to choose from, with a small sticker to show you what color is inside the package you are holding.

Looking at the picture on the package you might wonder what the seat is made of. Could it be plastic? How about foam? It is actually made of a polyurethane material that is sturdy to hold the baby yet also squishy enough to be comfortable. Age guidelines are from 3 months up to 2 years old, so this seat will last awhile. The back of it comes just below the shoulders of my six month old. The seat is not flat as you might think but rather sunk in where the baby's bottom sits to better support them. I also recently discovered that there is a tray made to attach to the Bumbo that allows them to have snacks, a drink, or toys right in front of them. The tray retails for less than $10 at most stores.

The first day I brought home my child's Bumbo Baby Sitter, I was amazed. My then three month old baby would never stay in one place on her own without crying and wanting to be picked up. She had reflux, was very gassy, and became spoiled. I set her in the Bumbo seat, and my arms were free! My baby sat for almost an hour in her seat, looking around, sucking on her pacifier. For the first time in three months I was able to get a few chores done around the house while she was awake. That right there assured me that the $40 I had just spent was well worth it!

One of the best features this seat has to offer is that it is portable, meaning I can take my child wherever I am in the house and she will be right there safely in her Bumbo. If I am doing the dishes and she does not want to play on the floor, I simply put her in the Bumbo and set it on the counter as far back as it will go. She is within arms reach and can see me, something that makes her happy. I am also able to feed my baby in the Bumbo seat, which makes it easier to keep an eye on my other children as well.
