The KitchenAid Pro Line Coffee Mill can easily cost several hundred dollars, although the savvy shopper should be able to purchase it for under two hundred dollars. Because of the high cost in comparison to other mills, this product is best for the enthusiast.
With that said, the enthusiast will find many things to like about the KitchenAid Pro Line Coffee Mill. The glass bean hopper and the bin not only indicate quality, but also reduce the static cling of the grounds. The 15 grind sizes covers almost every possible size required for everything from espresso to French Press.
The burrs rotate at 450 rpm, a detail that prevents most of the frictional heating and coffee flavor and aroma from the resulting grounds. The grounds are also consistently sized, making a smoother cup of coffee.
The lid on glass bean hopper is not airtight, so it is not recommended to use the hopper to store extra beans. However, the large hopper allows for enough beans to be ground for the entire week. Of course, this may or may not be an acceptable step for the enthusiast the name of convenience.
The glass bean hopper and bin are dishwasher safe and the rest of the product can easily be wiped down with a damp cloth. The KitchenAid Pro Line Mill is designed to fit under most cabinets to sit on the countertop, and the attractive design makes it worth leaving out.
The KitchenAid Pro Line Mill is available in a wide variety of colored finishes. The colors coordinate with the rest of the KitchenAid line of kitchen appliances, including their very popular stand mixers.
Instead of a serving size dial, the KitchenAid Pro Line Coffee Mill has a simple on/off switch. Although some may consider this an inconvenience initially, regular use will quickly be able to gauge the amount ground vs. the amount needed.
