If you've been looking for a way to feel more alert, energized and productive during the day, you've found it. Morning exercise has been proven to increase mental acuity all day in addition to providing the energy needed to sustain a high workload. Many people find that they are fatigued by noon, then become even less energetic after they've eaten their lunch. Morning exercise, however, will give you the energy you need to get through even the most stressful day.

The largest benefit of morning exercise, according to medical researchers, is that it sets the pace for the entire day. If you start your day actively, you're more likely to find other ways to be active as the day progresses, which is the key to losing weight. You'll be more likely to take the stairs than the elevator, to walk to lunch rather than driving and to stretch or jump rope during your lunch break.

It's a given that you need to exercise in order to lose weight, and it really doesn't matter whether you exercise in the morning, afternoon or evening. However, you can increase your metabolism for the entire day by exercising in the morning and it provides countless psychological benefits.

Evening exercise might seem more convenient, but research shows that people who exercise later in the day have more difficulty sleeping. Unfortunately, being sleep-deprived will keep you from exercising at all and you'll begin to lose the battle with losing weight. Further, exercising in the morning will wake up your body in ways that a cold shower or a hearty breakfast simply can't accomplish.

The problem we face, however, is finding the time for morning exercise. You've got to get ready for work, get the kids ready for school, pack lunches, prepare your briefcase and even feed the dog. What time do you have to fit in twenty minutes of exercise?
