My husband has been an electronics junkie for as long as I've known him. We're purchased just about every variety of home electronics device known to man; you think of it, we probably have at least on
e of them. Our most expedition into the world of technology was for a new television, and after examining more than I care to remember, we finally settled on the Sony Grand Wega 50" Rear Projection HDTV.
The Sony Grand Wega 50" Rear Projection HDTV is by far the best television we've ever purchased. The picture quality is phenomenal. Images are clear, bright and lifelike, even with older television shows or movies. We watch a lot of older shows, and shows that look fuzzy or unclear on our other televisions look wonderful on the Sony. The high definition programming is stunning on this television as well.
The sound quality is also excellent. The speakers on the Sony Grand Wega 50" Rear Projection HDTV are vertical, placed along the outer edges of the screen. The placement of the speakers projects the sound very well, and it is always clear and easy to hear, even at low levels. A lot of programs vary in volume from extremely loud in one scene to very quiet in the next, but the Sony stays even and true throughout. We live with family in a fairly small home, and we can watch televisions in different rooms, with different programming with no difficulties. The Sony does not override the other televisions, yet we are still able to watch it at a normal volume.
Ease in connection of the Sony Grand Wega 50" Rear Projection HDTV was also a selling point for us. There are ports in the back of the television and in the front, so that we can attach all of our devices to the unit with ease. We have a surround sound system, DVD player, VCR, satellite receiver, stereo tuner, and Xbox all hooked into the television, and it was a breeze to get them all connected and working correctly. The Sony, while large in size, is light enough to be maneuvered with ease. It's not difficult by any means to move the television when need be, and can be shifted by one person for cleaning and other such chores.
