Once again, many Days fans thought this would be the spectacular year in which this popular daytime show would shine and get nominated in the main acting categories. To the dismay and disappointment o
f many fans, not one single actor or actress was nominated. Year after year, ABC and CBS have dominated the acting categories. There has been speculation of a conspiracy because of this. Days of Our Lives has so many talented actors on this show, it's a travesty and disgrace as to why these people are never nominated.

Let's start with a shining example: Kristian Alfonso, who has played Hope Williams Brady from 1983-1987, made a brief return in 1990, then came back in 1994 and has remained with the show ever since. The past year, she played the hardest storyline that she has ever had to play in her years on the show: that of losing a child. Her poignant portrayal of a devastated, angry, and emotionally-drained mother touched the hearts of many Days viewers. On top of losing her yong son, she additionally discovered that it was her step-daughter who accidentally killed her beloved son, and her husband helped cover it up. We cried right along with her as she said good-bye to her young son, as she lashed out at Bo, as she fell to the floor and sobbed upon realizing that her son was dead, and as she and Bo made the gut-wrenching decision to donate his organs, including donating his liver to his niece, Claire. Anyone who is a parent knows there is nothing harder in this life than losing a child, which Kristian played to the hilt. Many speculated this would finally be her year to get recognized for her work, to no avail. If she had been on a CBS or ABC show, perhaps it would have been a different story. Why Days of Our Lives is simply overlooked year after year, is an mystery, and seemingly a conspiracy as well.
