The weather if starting to warm up and now is the time to start thinking about your summer vacation. This year why not plan to spend some time in the great outdoors? If you live in Idaho, Washington,
or Montana you can easily slip over to Blackfoot, Idaho for a weekend adventure, this article will show you how.

Step Number 1 - Learn About Blackfoot, Idaho

Blackfoot, Idaho has been deemed the "Potato Capital of the World." Here you will find a quaint community of about 10,646 people, a potato museum, and the Idaho Potato Exp. You will also find the perfect environment for living out your Wild West dreams. The summer climate for this town is comfortable with temperatures warming up starting in May and staying under 90 degrees even during the height of summer.

Step Number 2 - Book Your Lodging

If you want to ease into camping then you may want to start out by staying at one of the local hotels at night and then plan a day trip to the local outdoor attractions. Blackfoot is a small town so you don't have a lot of lodging options. Your three in-town options are the Best Western Blackfoot Inn, the Super 8 Motel of Blackfoot, and the Howard Johnson Express Inn. If you don't mind driving you can expand your options by looking for lodging in Pocatello.

If you own an RV then you will want to make arrangements to stay at the Pocatello KOA Kampground in Pocatello, the Cowboy RV Park, or the Idaho Falls KOA Kampground. If you feel adventurous then you can make plans to stay at one of the near by campgrounds. The closest campgrounds to Blackfoot, Idaho include: the Cherry Springs Campground Picnic Area, Sunnyside Acres Park, and Scout Mountain Campground.
