Medicaid Program Gives Kids the Gift of Health
Texas Health Steps Covers Dental and Doctor Care
Texas Health Steps is a little known program that offers check-ups and health care to babies all the way to young adults of 21 years who receive Medicaid. If you are on the program Dental and MeYour Child will receive free eye exams so if there is a problem with eyesight it can be corrected with the use of glasses. However if laser treatment is an option of restoring eye vision over the use of glasses, it probably won't be covered because it is a luxury treatment or rather one that isn't necessary for vision performance at the moment.
Free hearing exams to keep the child's optimum hearing level at a strong peak. If the child has hearing that requires the use of hearing aids then the child will receive them free of charge. Ear wax removal may be all that is needed for effective hearing which is another benefit of hearing exams.
Free dental care good for cleaning teeth and gums, fixing cavities, and if necessary pulling bad teeth and replacing them with partials etc. Braces are not covered because straightening teeth isn't a health issue needed to maintain healthy gums and teeth.
Free shots and doctor visits requiring treatment of flu, colds, sprains, broken bones, cuts requiring stitches etc. Prescriptions will be covered because they are essential in cures.
- People on Medicaid are at poverty level or below.
- People on Medicaid don't make enough money to obtain health or dental care.
