Bring Mom for a Mother's Day Feast

Nestled at the base of the Cerbat Mountains is the quaint little town of Chloride Arizona. It is about 75 miles southeast of Las Vegas Nevada. Traveling south on Route 93, it is about 20 miles pas
t the Hoover Dam. From the Kingman Arizona area, travel about 17 miles northwest on Route 93. Turn off Route 93 at the sign for Chloride and travel about three and a half miles into town. Once in this little town, look for Yesterdays Restaurant on 2nd Street. The town is pretty small so you'll find it just by driving up and down the streets.

Anyone visiting the area, or locals from the surrounding areas for that matter, should take the time to visit Yesterdays Restaurant. I have had the pleasure of dining at this fabulous little spot on two occasions and plan on returning there next month. The outside is modest and unassuming and the interior is simple and a little rustic. There is a small bandstand area in the corner of the restaurant as they have live entertainment performing there on occasion. Yesterdays Restaurant is neat and clean as are the rest rooms.

We found Yesterdays Restaurant as we were passing through the area and heading up the mountain road to get a look at the murals that were painted on the boulders in the mountains above Chloride by artist Roy Purcell in the 1960's. While in Chloride, you may want to venture up the rough road up into the mountains to get a look at the famous Purcell Murals. Roy Purcell and a team of artists repainted the murals in the summer of 2006 so the colors have been revitalized after almost forty years of weathering.

This is the best and most fun restaurant you will find in any small town in the southwest. John and Bonnie and the team there really know how to put out great food and they provide excellent entertainment. It's a must visit anytime you're heading between Las Vegas and Kingman.

Always enjoy nostalgic themed restaurants. Sweet potato fries sound yummy!
