"Funny People" Seth Rogen Slams Katherine Heigl Over "Sexist" Remark
Battling Weight Loss Rumors, Seth Rogen Takes on "Knocked Up" Co-Star
Seth Rogen, star of the just released Judd Apatow film "Funny People" and target of weight loss fears, is a little annoyed with Katherine Heigl, his co-star in "Knocked Up," who he flat-out states has made "bats**t crazy" comments of late. In fact, Seth Rogen said that Katherine Heigl's comments that "Knocked Up," another Judd Apatow film, was "sexist" was a little hypocritical, especially in light of the context of her latest film, "The Ugly Truth." But while Katherine Heigl may have ignored Seth Rogen's weight loss, her words about their work together brought out some ugly truth on the "Howard Stern Show.".Seth Rogen, appearing on Howard Stern's Sirius XM radio show, told the shock jock, "That [movie] looks like it really puts women on a pedestal in a beautiful way."
Katherine Heigl's latest movie, which co-stars Gerald Butler, reverses the usual role of females coaching males how to get the girl by teaching him all the female "secrets." Heigl's character, a morning show producer (romantically challenged, as it were) who performs a series of romantic tests set up by a chauvinistic morning shot host, wears vibrating underwear and participates in unladylike activity. In a recent interview with Vanity Fair, though, Heigl stated that "Knocked Up" was "a little sexist" because it "paints the women as shrews."
Judd Apatow agrees with Seth Rogen. "I hear there's a scene where she's wearing ... underwear ... with a vibrator in it, so I'd have to see if that was uplifting for women."
The two men were quick to add that Katherine Heigl was great to work with and that there hadn't seemed to be a problem when they worked together on "Knocked Up." Judd Apatow offered that she must have been tired after a long day of interviews. Besides, he said, "Seth always says it doesn't make any sense [because] she improvised half her sh**."
Seth Rogen told Howard Stern, "I've got to say it's not like we're the only people she said some batsh** crazy things about. That's kind of her bag now."
