Pearl Jam to Headline Lollapalooza
Seattle Band Will Headline Final Night of 2007 Lollapalooza Music Festival
Pearl Jam rose to rock stardom after the release of the Seattle band's 1991 debut, Ten. The album is considered a grunge classic and propelled Pearl Jam to prominence in the 1990s rock scene. The band has drawn high numbers to its concerts consistently over the past fifteen years and is noted for its electrifying performances. Peal Jam will headline the August 5th date of Lollapalooza which this year includes The Annuals, LCD Soundsystem, Peter Bjorn and John, and many more artists. Prior to the Lollapalooza tour date, Pearl Jam will embark on a three-week tour of Europe.
Lollapalooza is a long-running annual music festival that ran from 1991 to 1997 and then again from 2003 until present. The festival has featured bands in the alternative rock, hip hop, punk, and electronica genres. Originally organized by Jane's Addiction frontman, Perry Farrell, Lollapalooza came to typify 1990s alternative rock. The revival of the festival after a drop in interest in the late 1990s was largely due to Farrell's reunion tour with Jane's Addiction in 2003.
Three-day passes for Lollapalooza are available beginning today, April 3rd at 7:00 AM CDT. If you purchase these passes before April 12th, you will receive a discount on the price.
