You might recognize the small pot with its diminutive leaping tiger stamped on its gold top. The slogan is "It works wherever it hurts." and BOY HOWDY! DOES IT EVER! I love this product! Tiger Balm Relieving Ointment is a topical heat rub for muscle pain. It provides effective relief for most muscle aches and pains such as headaches, rheumatism, arthritic pains, muscle strains, sprains and itching. I bought Tiger Balm for muscle pain. I have Fibromyalgia Syndrome. (FMS) It is a pain deep in the muscle tissues. It can be diagnosed for older and younger people. In younger people, discomfort after minimal exercise, low-grade fever or below-normal temperature. I have had this terrible pain for five years now and the only thing that cures my suffering is Tiger Balm Relieving Ointment. I apply this thick oily pumpkin orange balm that has the look and consistency of earwax over my muscles when they flare up. It goes on cool at first, as I rub it on my temples, spreading it over my fingers, around my neck and then turns hot when you finish. The heat makes the muscle aches and pains disappear quickly.
The only fault with this product is that some may find the smell as hard as a punch in the face (Think Vick's Vapor Rub) The smell is a pungent sweet cinnamon that stings making your eyes water. Personally, I like the smell. To me, it smells like the cinnamon perfume oil you buy at "The Body Shop" at the mall. However, my roommates have threatened to kill me if I don't warn them before applying it. Seriously.
The only two things I would change is the thick and oily goop that is the Tiger Balm medicine. Also, I would change the fact that it burns like fire if you add water to the mix. I once placed my hands under the faucet after applying Tiger Balm just to wash it off my hands and it felt as if I had placed my hands atop a stove fire. Other than that, it works wonderfully for my fibromyalgia Syndrome and terrible headaches. I wouldn't know what I would do without it. Some friends of mine, the ones that don't mind the smell, use it. My mother uses it for her inflamed arthritis. Tiger Balm comes in a small pot that you can store in your medicine cabinet.
