Mystic has a lot to offer, including museums, specialty shops, water activities, and more. One of the biggest Mystic attractions is the Mystic Seaport, considered the Museum of America and the Sea. The seaport is a 19th century village with historic interpreters explaining the various buildings, trades, and family life. There is also a planetarium, children's museum, shipyard, and waterfront area where you can tour the tall ships and other seafaring ships. Mystic Seaport usually holds special events throughout the year, including Music on the River in the Summer, Fish and Ships Seafood Festival in the Fall, Lantern Light Tours in the Winter, and a Spring Garden Series.
