We weren't very original, and never won any Halloween party contests. For a last minute cheap Halloween costume idea that is sure to impress, consider Peter Pan and Tinkerbell costume.

For the Peter Pan Costume, you need a long green t-shirt, green or brown pants (loose fititng leggings are preferable). Cut the t-shirt to have a petal bottom and sleeves as well. With a scissor, cut a few inches down the front center of the shirt and make a few holes on each side of the cut. Use a shoestring to lace the front of the shirt. Use a brown or green piece of fabric to tie as your belt. Make the Peter Pan hat, use green construction paper to make a simple paper hat and add use a stapler to make sure the had does not unfold. Follow this easy tutorial for making a paper hat. Also staple a feather to the hat which you can make from brown construction paper.

Start your Tinkerbell costume by finding a green dress. You can use any green dress at all such as a satin nightgown, a bridesmaid dress, a velvet dress, or a sundress. You can also use a green bodysuit or leotard and skirt. Choose something however, that you don't mind destroying. Depending on the dress you choose, you may need to wear a light color or flesh tone shirt and short underneath for modesty and warmth.

Alter your costume by removing sleeves, if the costume has them, and cutting the dress off at mid thigh length. Cut the dress hem into zig zag points as you see in pictures of Tinkerbell. With the fabric left over from cutting off the skirt, cut out leafs to attach to the neckline of the dress and also to the hemline of the costume. Sew a few bells to the hemline of your costume.
