My Miracle Drug - Microgestin Birth Control

Seems pretty obvious, but many women would be in agony, not to mention, be pregnant if birth control were not an option. I, personally, have very painful periods each month. They are so painful that without birth control, I am confined to my home and tortured with horrific cramps. I'm not
exaggerating in the least bit, either. This is where my miracle drug, Microgestin, comes into play.

Since taking Microgestin, I am virtually cramp-free. I don't have to call in sick to work, I can move about my every day life normally and not let my body hold me back. Now, this particular brand of birth control does have some bad side effects, and these are the things I wish I could change. Actually, next month I am going to switch brands because this particular one isn't right for me.

While Microgestin may work for some women, it has caused random depression, fits of rage, nausea after eating, and made my sex drive almost zero. None of these are good things, but they have been small prices to pay for a pain-free period. I have been on a different brand of birth control in the past called Estrostep and it caused absolutely no side effects. It was a perfect brand for me, but my local Planned Parenthood did not have this brand when I signed up for birth control a few months ago. I have talked to some women, however, who have had really extreme side effects from Estrostep. It all depends on the woman and her personal genetic make-up, hormones, et cetera to find the right birth control for them.

No matter what the side effects, though, I am a strong supporter of birth control. I really couldn't live without it, not happily anyway. I've tried and it is not pleasant in the least bit. I recommend it for any woman who is having trouble with period pains and as a method of protection against becoming pregnant. It also regulates your menstrual cycle so you know exactly when you will be starting and ending your period each month as opposed to the guessing game it can be when you are not on birth control.

I know this article is old, but I have to leave a comment for anyone who comes across it by doing a Google search. The side effects are pretty bad. I use to take Yazmin, but it was too expensive, so I switched to Microgestin. My breast have been sore for a month. I thought I was pregnant becase they seem to be getting bigger. Also, I've gained four pounds. I would love to continue taking the pills, but I cannot take the side effects. Good luck ladies.

I am too absent minded to rely on the pill for contraception. But, if I were in the market I would heed your advice.
