One fateful night a few months ago, I was using a friend's washing machine to do a load of laundry and borrowed his laundry products for my cycle. To my happy surprise, they were the Downy & Tide Simple Pleasures Lavender & Vanilla Detergent, Liquid & Dryer Sheet Fabric Softener. I'd seen the commercials for these products but hadn't gotten a chance to buy them for myself. So, I was excited at the opportunity to see what they were all about and if they lived up to the hype of what everyone said about them. Normally, I'm afraid that a product that advertises blending the essential oils of lavender & vanilla into a laundry fragrance may have too much of one scent, overpowering the other but I think Downy & Tide actually created a perfect blend which is soothing on the senses. What awaited me when twisting off the detergent cap was a calming, delicious scent that permeated the air. To me, this was a good sign that I was meant to give this refreshing scent a test drive, and possibly make it a part of my permanent laundry routine.

I began my experience with a cupful of the Tide Simple Pleasures laundry detergent in my wash cycle. It foamed up nicely and the aroma filled the laundry room. Next, I added a cupful of the Downy Simple Pleasures Liquid Fabric Softener to the final rinse cycle and waited. If you don't want to wait for the final rinse, you can add the liquid to the Downy ball dispenser and throw it in at the beginning of the wash cycle. After my rinse cycle was done, I added my clothes and the fabric softener sheets to the dryer and patiently waited for the verdict.

For me, the final results were wonderful. Not only did my cotton shirts and pants have a balanced blend of lavender and vanilla aroma, but they were noticeably softer, and smoother. I was also really surprised at how I had no instances of static cling or wrinkles. So, I'd recommend to get the best results, both in scent and in how your clothes feel and look, to use the entire line of Downy & Tide Simple Pleasures Detergent and Fabric Softener.
