For the first several months of life, my daughter used an infant seat. This was great while it lasted, but she outgrew it by the time she was eight months old. After doing some research on car seats, we eventually bought Cosco's Alpha Omega Elite convertible car seat.

My main requirements of a car seat were safety first, and then things like comfort, size, appearance and cost. The Alpha Omega Elite car seat met my standards, for the most part.

When deciding on a care seat, I was very concerned about its safety. From what I learning in the research I conducted, the Alpha Omega Elite performed well in safety tests.

Some car seats are better for certain body shapes. For example, short and stocky children may be better suited to a different car seat than my daughter, who is very tall and lean.

When purchasing a car seat, something to consider is how long your child will be able to use it. Convertible car seats are great for getting a lot of use, as they can be used from five pounds until 100 pounds, in the case of the Alpha Omega Elite convertible car seat. In other words, the Alpha Omega Elite convertible car seat could be the only car sear you will need.

It is also important to note the height limits on the car seat you purchase. The height limit on the Alpha Omega Elite convertible car seat is 52 inches. At the rate that my daughter is growing, she will outgrow the car seat by height much sooner than she will be weight.

Another issue that was important to me in choosing a car seat was comfort for my daughter. Some of the more expensive car seats were very plush and soft. We sometimes take fairly long car trips with my daughter, so this comfort was essential.

I found the Alpha Omega Elite convertible car seat to be quite roomy and "cushy." The Alpha Omega Elite convertible car seat is perhaps a little less plush than some of the high-end car seats, but for the extra $100, it is good enough!

The appearance of the Alpha Omega Elite convertible car seat was satisfactory. The car seat is a black and white pattern, similar to hounds tooth. It is simple and neutral. This car seat would be good for a girl or a boy in this sense.

Linda- one thing that you can do to make sure you install your carseat (if needed) correctly is to take it to your police or fire station. Im most places, people there are trained to check and properly install carseats. You could find out where these services are available in your area, should the need arise. Thanks for the comment!

Sounds good. If I buy one, I hope I can install it. That is one thing I worry about if and when we adopt a child, the baby seats. Good review.

Doesn't sound bad, if I can install it. This is what I fear (if and when we get to adopt a baby) installing car seats (among other things). Good review.
