Parenting skills don't magically develop when you arrive home with a new baby in tow. Take if from Stacie Mindich-Jordan, President of BabyDish, most new parents need all the help they can get. That's why this industrious mom developed her pre-packed diaper bag called the "BabyBeReady."Like most busy executives, Stacie Mindich-Jordan, was a master at juggling her personal and professional life. She was a sought-after Marketing Director at Hollywood's entertainment news magazines 'Weekly' and 'Daily' Variety. Things changed when Mindich-Jordan had her first child. This seasoned pro had to quickly learn a whole new skill set. Her sojourn into the kid's marketplace was on organic one-she saw a gap in the market and jumped to fill it with her company BabyDish.
Now 37, with both kids (Noah, 6 and Hannah, 3) out of diapers, Mindich-Jordan is sharing her wisdom with the next generation of beleaguered parents in need of help. The first product she developed was the pre-packed BabyBeReady bag. The bag comes in a variety of trendy prints and retails for $125. Open the bag and inside there are all the essentials:
Rattle/teether
Bottle
Pacifier and case
Sun hat
Travel wipes and box
Onesie
Bib
Three Diapers
Burp cloth
Changing pad
BabyBeReady has been well-received. In fact, the busy California mom is celebrating her first year in business. I recently chatted with the Mindich-Jordan about life, kids and the sharp learning curve of a neophyte parent.
How did the company get started?
I am a mom of two and when my kids were infants I would always forget something in my diaper bag! I started packing my baby's essentials in a plastic Ziploc! I did some research to see if anyone made a fancier bag that held all these essentials and they did not. I came up with the BabyBeReady Diaper Bag Survival Kit as a way to make new mothers' lives easier and more organized.
