Halle Berry now has a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame to go along with her Emmy, Golden Globe, and Oscar.

Berry, who won the first every best actress Academy Award that went to an African American, received the 2,333rd Walk of Fame star Tuesday in front of the Kodak Theatre. The honor comes 10 days before the release of her latest film, "Perfect Stranger."

In the new film, Berry plays a New York City newspaper reporter who goes undercover to root out an executive, played by Bruce Willis, whom she suspects of murdering her best friend.

"I want to officially state that I am an emotional retard," Berry said. "I am so emotional ... as soon as I saw the crowds of people and friends here, I started to cry."

Berry, 40, was actually named to receive a star in 2003, but scheduling conflicts delayed her from receiving it until now, according to an official with the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce, overseer to the Walk of Fame.

Berry won her best actress Oscar in 2001 for her role in "Monster's Ball," in which she portrayed a woman who has an affair with a prison guard who participated in the execution of her husband.

In 2000, Berry won an Emmy and Golden Globe award for her role in the HBO made for TV movie about the first black to be nominated for a best actress Oscar, "Introducing Dorothy Dandridge."

Berry was born in 1966 in Cleveland and was named for a department store in the city. She was runner up in the 1986 Miss USA pageant. Her first major acting role was as a cast member on the short-lived 1989 ABC comedy "Living Dolls."

Berry's movie debut came in 1991 in Spike Lee's "Jungle Fever." She has also appeared in movies such as "Losing Isaiah," "Bulworth," "The Flintstones," "Die Another Day," "Why do Fools Fall in Love," and the "X-Men" series as Storm.

In addition to her plethora of positive awards, she also received the universally unwanted Razzie award as worst actress for her role in 2004's "Catwoman." She showed her sense of humor by becoming the first actress to accept a Razzie in person.
